MYNIC Adds More Online Features

Dear Valued Customers,

We are pleased to announce that MYNIC is making the process of modification more convenient and easier to use. Customers can now update the data pertaining to their domain names directly, without going through the process of faxing confirmation for verification and subsequent updating in the MYNIC Database. This new service will be launched on 8 October 2003.

Formerly, any modification pertaining to the Registrant of the domain, the Administrative Contact, Billing Contact, Technical Contact and Name Servers required faxed confirmation to MYNIC, verifying that these changes had been made by persons authorised to do so. MYNIC then updated the information in its system.

With the automatic online process, any Administrative Contact, Billing Contact, or Technical Contact can modify their respective data without the need for hard-copy verification. This means speedier processing time and less paperwork. Please note, however, that IP address and Registrant name modifications require verification by MYNIC.

Please also note that the Billing Contact is no longer tied to the Administrative Contact. Starting from 8 October 2003, the Administrative Contact is free to either choose a third party to be the domain name’s Billing Contact or remain as the Billing Contact.

These online features are accessible with the appropriate UserID and passwords. Customers are urged to always keep their UserID and passwords secure. A comprehensive guide on how to use these new features will be made available on our website www.mynic.net.my on the launch date.
